Executive Director Herr Elected to WEDA Board

The 7 Rivers Alliance is honored to announce that Executive Director Lisa Herr has been elected to serve a three year term on the Wisconsin Economic Development Association Board of Directors.

“I am honored and gratified to join WEDA as a board member. The work of this organization aligns with my goals for advancing economic development throughout the state of Wisconsin,” said Herr.

Executive Director Herr Featured in WPR

Wisconsin Public Radio highlighted Dr. Lisa Herr, Executive Director of The 7 Rivers Alliance, in a newsmakers segment discussing economic development and the 2015 Business Survey results. Herr spoke alongside  Terry Whipple, the Executive Director of the Juneau County Economic Development Corporation.  Both Herr and Whipple express the importance of local economic success, as well as the importance of international relationships and trade connections to increase the vitality of the region.

“Wisconsin is a leader in so many areas, regionally and nationally. We have expertise and we are bind to offer that expertise in those other countries and to go in and establish our businesses, and develop, what I would consider, a win-win business relationship,” says Herr on the value of prioritizing international exchange.

2015 Revitalize Storefront Conference Coverage

The La Crosse Tribune featured an article on the knowledgeable speakers in attendance at the Revitalize Storefront Conference held on November 19th, 2015 in Cashton, WI.  Over 60 attendees from various local communities learned strategies to keep rural downtowns and commercial corridors alive and energized.

2015 State of the Region Featured in Local News

WXOW News 19 and News800 highlighted the incredible success of the 2015 State of the Region Event.  “We’re revving up, if you will, and starting to make some progress, and I think that will  continue in the next several years,” projects Lisa Herr,  the 7 Rivers Alliance Executive Director, on the future of the La Crosse economy. Herr and event speakers  foresee continuous economic progress throughout the different industries of the region, and hope for collaboration between the areas strongest leaders, developers, and key decision makers.
