The 7 Rivers Alliance hosted a Workforce Summit on May 23 in La Crosse to help employers find workers.

.

More than 15 credible speakers from multiple areas of employment shared their experiences and answered questions that helped businesses worker shortage gaps.

.
The summit will included an update of the region’s Workforce Innovation for a Strong Economy (WISE) Plan – a comprehensive 10-year workforce development plan. The focus of the summit was on groups of workers often overlooked for employment including: those with disabilities, veterans, and the rehabilitated. The event had continuous rotation of round table/Q&A sessions from agencies, employers, and employees that are experts in these categories.
.
“The Workforce Summit should give employers practical guidance and advice on hiring workers,” said Chris Hardie, 7 Rivers Alliance CEO. “There are often workers in these categories waiting to find jobs.”
