The 7 Rivers Alliance is pleased to announce that we are working with Competitive Wisconsin – a nonpartisan collaborative organization to identify and help leaders address major challenges – to hold a state summit in La Crosse Thursday, April 14 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Area partners include University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Western Technical College, Gundersen Health System and Dairyland Power. Other sponsors are the Wisconsin Counties Association, American Family Insurance and Wis Politics.

The statewide in-person and virtual summit for local government officials, employers, other community leaders and interested citizens is dedicated to identifying options for strengthening and expanding early care and education programs that would help parents who want to work but lack the childcare options they need to do so.

The summit is one of eight CWI is organizing as part of a CWI initiative called Wisconsin Tomorrow dedicated to working with local and regional leaders around the state on specific workforce recruitment and retention enhancement strategies, including early childhood care and education, housing, broadband, health care, transportation, community quality of life and opportunity, energy and rural resurgence.

I will be joined by local and state panelists as we tackle this challenging issue. It will take a strong collaborative approach to implement solutions.
