The 7 Rivers Region unemployment rates continue to decline, according to the latest numbers from state officials.

The May unemployment rate in the Western region of Wisconsin was 3.5%, down from 3.9% in April and 10.3% in May of 2020, according to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

La Crosse County had the area’s lowest unemployment rate at 3.1%, down slightly from the 3.3% mark in April. Jackson County had the highest rate at 5%, which was a reduction from 6% in April.
